Regular visit of experts from E-Governance Academy in Estonia was held with the assistance of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Center for Investment and Development.

Experts visited Precarpathian region within the implementation of project "Support to the development of e-governance in Ivano-Frankivsk region," the main executor of which is Academy of e-governance in Estonia, with financial support from Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA). Project partners are Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Center for Investment and Development, NGO "Agency for Private Initiative Development".

Aim of the visit, which lasted from 17 till 19 of September, 2013 was to acquaint the officials from Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Administration and local governments in pilot cities, which are participating in the project (Ivano-Frankivsk, Kalush, Dolyna) with the next plans in project implementation. Project manager of E-Governance Academy in Estonia Jelizaveta Krenova said that technological projects on selected instruments of e-governance that were submitted to Swedish International Development Agency were supported and the implementation of the project was extended till June, 2015 (for the reference: preliminary total duration of the project, which started in September 2012, was 18 months).

By this time, experts of the project developed a concept of support to e-governance in Ivano-Frankivsk region as well as descriptions of technical tasks for such technological projects:

  • electronic system of document flow for Ivano-Frankivsk, Kalush and at regional level;
  • geographic information system for Kalush, Dolyna and Ivano-Frankivsk;
  • call-center for Kalush and Dolyna.

 Moreover, separate meetings of experts with relevant specialists of local governments in pilot cities of the region were held. Technical aspects for implementation of selected instruments of e-governance in municipalities’ work were examined during the meetings.

Final event was held on September 19 in Ivano-Frankivsk. It was joint meeting of officials from Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, Executive Committee of Ivano-Frankivsk City Council, Kalush and Dolyna City Councils (responsible for the project implementation) with the experts from E-governance Academy in Estonia. Best practices of the project and next steps towards the implementation of developed technological projects in pilot cities and the region were discussed during the meeting in more detailed way. Among other important things during the meeting was the discussion of issue concerning implementation of mobile applications for the population.
