Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Center for Investment and Development became a partner of the project “Support of e-governance development in Ivano-Frankivsk region” that started on September 1 of the current year and will continue until February 28, 2013.

The project involves the development of Ivano-Frankivsk region potential in the implementation of information and communication technologies to improve the clarity of governance and strengthening of local democracy, creating an example for the central authorities. In the future the best practices of e-governance will spread in other regions of Ukraine.

Chief executor of the project is the Academy of e-governance in Estonia – nongovernmental and non-profitable organization established for the transfer of knowledge on e-governance, electronic democracy and the development of civil society. Besides Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Center for Investment and Development partners of the project in Ukraine are Ivano-Frankivsk regional state administration, non-governmental organization “Agency for the development of private initiative” (Ivano-Frankivsk). Donors of the project: Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia.

The project will be implemented in three pilot cities of Ivano-Frankivsk region: Ivano-Frankivsk, Kalush and Dolyna.

The objectives of the project are:

  • analysis of the situation on e-governance in Ivano-Frankivsk region
  • organization of comprehensive training week in Tallinn and Stockholm for civil servants in the selected cities of Ivano-Frankivsk region
  • preparation of the development concept of e-governance in the region
  • development of 2-3 possible technological projects with the potential of gaining the foreign financing
  • preparation of recommendation digest on development of e-governance for the local authority of Ukraine

On October 8-10, 2012 will take place an introductory visit of Estonian delegation to the Ivano-Frankivsk region. During the visit the experts of the project are planning to meet with officials of Ivano-Frankivsk regional state administration, mayors of Kalush, Dolyna and Ivano-Frankivsk where they will present and discuss the plans on implementation of project, determine the priorities and directions of project implementation in the context of regional development strategy and selected cities for further planning of cooperation.

During the visit also will take place a seminar with the participation of partners’ representatives and leading cities on which they will discuss the current situation on e-governance in pilot cities (presentations of cities) as well as issues of implementation of e-governance at the local level.
