On September 21, 2016, the Science City "New Energy" was launched in the exhibition hall of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas.
This unique place for Ivano-Frankivsk was created by a team of teachers and enthusiastic students of the university, turning a familiar educational space into an interactive center for intellectual leisure and practical study of energy efficiency for everyone - from five-year-old children to mature people.
In his presentation, the head of the "New Energy" project, Maksym Karpash, notes: "We have a place equipped for both training and entertainment. For example, you can have fun with your children by competing to see who will generate more energy on a bicycle generator, see how wind energy is converted into electricity on construction sets. You can also try printing a model you designed yourself on a 3D printer."
Among the dozen interactive elements is a sandbox with augmented reality. Both adults and children can feel like the creator of the earth and build a mountain, dig a lake, form a volcano, or cause rain.

This entire complex of entertainment and interactive activities has a truly pragmatic and far-reaching goal: to teach the population to use energy resources wisely, to understand the possibilities of using renewable energy. Therefore, for this purpose, a permanent consultation point on energy efficiency has been created at the scientific town, where professors and associate professors of the university will conduct thematic master classes and trainings. And for children from preschoolers to high school students, groups for game classes have already been organized.

"We often have a simplified understanding of the situation: we need to borrow money, buy gas and convert it into energy. At the same time, there are much more profitable energy sources nearby, but we do not know how to use them. In order to change this, we created this town," notes Doctor of Technical Sciences Evstahiy Kryzhanivskyi, rector of the university.
It is nice that the Agency for the Development of Private Initiatives also joined the creation of "New Energy", transferring to the town library more than a hundred of Energy Efficiency Guides developed and published by us, which will be useful to all its clients from schoolchildren to consumers of retirement age.

Also, in the town's classes, the board game "RES Leader" will be an excellent tool for studying alternative energy sources and, at the same time, for developing the leadership qualities of those who advocate the use of alternative energy sources as opposed to traditional exhaustible ones, several dozen copies of which were also donated to the town by our organization.
