On the occasion of Inventor and Innovator Day which is traditionally celebrated in Ukraine on September 15 in Ivano-Frankivsk region on Friday September 14, 2012 took place a regional scientific-practical conference “Intellectual property – key to success”.

Organizers of the event were the Department of Economics of Regional State Administration and Ukrainian regional organization of inventors and innovators. The event was attended by representatives of executive power and local government, scientists, inventors and innovators of our region, winners of the regional annual award named after Gerasim Tersenov.

“Over the past five years, Ivano-Frankivsk region enters the seven leaders among the regions of Ukraine in the ratio of innovation-active industrial enterprises as well as being one of the few where approved, implemented and partially financed the development program of research and development activity till 2015” – emphasized at the conference the director of the Department of Economics, vice-chairman of Regional State Administration Volodymyr Popovic.

In Ivano-Frankivsk region as were mentioned at the conference are carrying out the exhibitions of scientific and technical developments, published and distributed the catalog of perspective inventions and innovative offers, catalog of investment and innovative projects which will be printed in Ukrainian and English is in the preparation stage. “For the first time over the recent years were made attempts to overcome the impenetrable wall between the inventor and manufacture” said the head of regional organization of inventors and innovators, honored innovator of Ukraine Bohdan Seredyuk. On the initiative of the chairman of Regional State Administration was held the “Doors Open Day” in the national higher education institutions of the regional center. Mychailo Vyshyvaniuk set a concrete task – report on what kind of scientific developments were already used in practice. According to Bohdan Seredyuk, Precarpathian region in the level of creative activity and number of innovators per 10 thousand workers in 2011 took 4th place among other regions.
