On November 15, 2012 in Ivano-Frankivsk took place a meeting of Western Ukraine business communities with the representatives of Flanders Investment and Trade Agency, Belgium.

During the meeting were presented the presentations of Belgian representatives concerning the possibilities of cooperation with region Flandria, juridical and tax aspects of economic activity on West European and Belgium markets. 

Representatives from the Belgian side were: Thomas Castel - deputy director of Flanders Investment and Trade Agency, Belgium, Marc De Mil – Ministry of Finance representative, Belgium, Olga Bukavyn – president of Belgian-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce.

Thomas Castel emphasized that cooperation between Ukrainian and Belgian enterprises primarily shall be regarded in such fields as: logistics, information and communication technologies and chemical industry. Marc De Mil, Belgian Ministry of Finance representative, focused on favorable cooperation conditions in case of business registration in Belgium.

More than 20 representatives of Western Ukraine enterprises operating in the production and sales of chemical products, logistics and transportation as well as in information and communication technologies fields took part in the meeting. During the non-formal communication representatives from both countriesorganizations that where stated before had an opportunity to set up a personal contacts for further cooperation. 

Director of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Center for Investment and Development Oksana Fedorovych emphasized that cooperation of Ivano-Frankivsk business entities with one of the most developed Belgian regions is of regional importance. “We are interested in clean technologies, computer equipment, other electronic products and many other things that can facilitate the opening of new industries and additional work places” – drew attention Oksana Fedorovych.

In the future it is planned to present investment opportunities of Precarpathian region and investment projects of enterprises for Belgian business communities.

Also during the meeting, was signed a Memorandum of cooperation between Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Center for Investment and Development and Flanders Investment and Trade Agency, Belgium. The aim of Memorandum is a non-profitable partnership, sharing of information and affairs directed at the promotion of Flandria and Ivano-Frankivsk region investment potential.

For the reference: On July 3, 2012 between the Belgian-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and public institution “Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Center for Investment and Development” was signed a Memorandum of cooperation.The Parties in particular have agreed to establish business relations in the sphere of investments attraction, promote direct contacts between Ukrainian and Belgian enterprises, cooperation based on One-Stop Shop conditions.
