The micro-grant competition to support local initiatives to engage the public in effective heritage management lasted from March 17 to April 17, 2020 and was aimed at specific CSOs whose representatives participated in the Heritage Interpretation Workshop for Ukrainian CSOs (December 12-15, 2019, Yaremche, Ivano-Frankivsk region) and prepared heritage interpretation plans for specific communities with public participation.

 
The evaluation of CSO proposals included their formal verification and content assessment. 14 CSOs participated in the competition, 11 of which were admitted to the content assessment. Based on the results of the evaluation of the proposals, the competition commission decided to provide grants for the implementation of 5 projects (proposals) that received the highest number of points:

· NGO Nadvirna Tourist Information Center, project "Navirna Castle "Krasnodvir": promotion through art"

· CF "Sofos", project "On a visit to the Urbanskikhs"

· NGO Steps to the Future, project "On the unknown paths of Transnistria"

· Spadshchina.UA, project "Fundraising campaign in favor of the Pomeranian Castle #save_the_castle"

· NGO Institute for the Development of the Bratslav Region, project "Festival "Bratslav-Renaissance- 4 "Quartet of Events""


The micro-grant competition was held within the framework of the project "Heritage for Development: Increasing Public Participation in the Preservation and Use of the Heritage Potential of Local Communities", implemented by the Agency for the Development of Private Initiatives with co-financing from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED). The goal of the project is to increase the level of activity and involvement of civil society and CSOs in Ukraine in the development and implementation of policies on the management of cultural heritage of local communities. The project partners are the Charitable Foundation "Creative Center CCC" and the Tourist Association of Ivano-Frankivsk Region.
