According to preliminary information given by Statistics Department in Ivano-Frankivsk region during January-September,2012 the volume of FDI (share capital) made by foreign investors amounted to $43.0 million.

As of October 1, 2012 the volume of FDI (share capital) made from the beginning of investment period reached $657.6 million, by 5.4% more than the volume at the beginning of 2012 and amounted to $477.5 per capita. Countries from European Union made $576.4 million investments (87% of total share capital), from CIS countries – $11.9 million (1.8%), from other countries – $69.3 million (10.5%).

Region’s investors are nonresidents from 53 countries. Five major investing countries, with 76.4% of total FDI volume are: Netherlands – $216.8 million, Cyprus – $167.3 million, Italy - $41.1 million, Serbia - $38.7 million, Denmark – $38.0 million.

Big share of capital was invested by nonresidents into industrial enterprises – $507.2 million, including processing industry – $495.5 million, of which: chemical and petrochemical – $220.4 million, food, beverages and tobacco production – $131.2 million, mechanical engineering – $41.2 million, light industry – $20.2 million, production of other non-metallic mineral products – $16.9 million, wood processing and wood production, except furniture – $13.4 million.

Investments in agriculture, hunting and forestry enterprises amounted to $92.3 million, in organizations engaged in real estate transactions, renting, engineering, providing services for entrepreneurs - $28.4 million, trade, repair of automobiles, household goods and personal consumption – $17.4 million, building activity – $8.2 million, transport and communication  activity – $1.2 million.

Total volume of foreign direct investments (share capital and debt instruments) as of October 1, 2012 amounted to $769.6 million.
