According to Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, the delegation from Ivano-Frankivsk headed by the governor of Regional State Administration Mykhailo Vyshyvaniuk, visited Edmonton, Alberta province, Canada in August 2013.

According to the results of visit, a number of agreements was reached and signed the Memorandum on mutual understanding between Ivano-Frankivsk region and Alberta.

Launched cooperation continues. Director of Trade and Investment Ministry on International and Intergovernmental Relations of Alberta Government (Canadian province) Laurent Auger came to the Precarpathian region by the invitation of the governor of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration Mykhailo Vyshyvaniuk.

The main purpose of the visit of Alberta representative to Precarpathian region was to determine the further steps to intensify cooperation between regions under the Memorandum.

During the meeting, Mykhailo Vyshyvaniuk and Laurent Auger talked about the real opportunities for investment activity especially in such sectors as agriculture, oil, tourism, medicine and education. "Visit of Laurent Auger will add dynamics to the development of our relations, - said Mykhailo Vyshyvaniuk. - I believe that exchange of experience will give the rise to more constructive development in various sectors of Precarpathian region". Alberta representative Laurent Auger came to the Precarpathian region to get acquainted with investment potential of the region since one of the main tasks of the Ministry of International and Intergovernmental Relations of Alberta Government is to be responsible for investment attractive offers and development of trade and services in targeted international markets.
