The project’s activities include strengthening the skills of community activists, especially youth, in advocacy and lobbying, which will help them promote their heritage initiatives at the local/regional government level. Additionally, there are plans to continue providing micro-grants for heritage interpretation. The project will also develop infographics on participation practices for changes in heritage resource management. Two heritage ambassadors’ forums will be conducted as well.
Expected outcomes of the ongoing project include:
- Participants of the project utilize their knowledge in the field of civic participation, local democracy tools, and advocacy planning for heritage resource campaigns in their communities.
- Graduates of the training programs strengthen their cooperation, engaging each other and previous program alumni in implementing initiatives for local development based on heritage potential.
- Community members share responsibility for the outcomes of initiatives based on heritage potential and work towards their sustainability.
- The motivation of residents to support the activities of local initiative groups and expand their influence increases.
- Citizens are more motivated to realize their volunteer potential by initiating socially beneficial initiatives for the preservation and promotion of local heritage.
