Objectives of the project: To explore opportunities for the economic development based on the utilization of the potential of the material and intangible heritage, including those related to the ethnic diversity of the selected AHs of Zakarpattya, Odesa, and Chernivtsi regions, and identify areas for the development of these communities with the active participation of residents, including representatives of different ethnic groups and living heritage safeguards.

Project outputs and results:

• A Methodology for the rapid assessment of prerequisites and potential for economic development based on cultural and natural heritage was developed.
• Five analytical reports were prepared based on the rapid assessment of the economic potential of heritage for each of the target communities: Storozhynetska and Sokiryanska urban communities, Chahorska rural ATG in Chernivtsi Oblast, Kuyalnytska rural ATG in Odesa Oblast, and Velykoberiznyanska settlement ATG in Zakarpattia Oblast.
• Five project concepts aimed at local development of the target communities were formulated, taking into account the economic potential of their heritage (anchor projects).
• A national presentation of the project’s results, titled «Multicultural Heritage for Development: The Start of the Ukrainian Communities Marathon,» was conducted.
