The project aimed to increase the level of activity and engagement of civil society and its institutions (CSOs) in Ukraine in developing and implementing policies related to the management of cultural and natural heritage in local communities. The goal was to enrich local democracy with meaningful content and actively involve the community in heritage preservation and sustainable development initiatives.

Project outputs and results:

• The project enabled the support of five civic participation initiatives related to the smart use of heritage resources for local development.
• It facilitated the preparation, discussion, and adoption of changes to the State Strategy for Regional Development until 2027 and provided recommendations for the future National Economic Strategy 2030.
• The project also developed and submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine a draft Law of Ukraine on amendments to legislative acts regarding the management of cultural heritage involving territorial communities and civil society institutions.
