The aim of the project was to unite efforts, build partnerships, establish professional connections, and expand opportunities for Ukrainian CSOs working in the fields of heritage and local development. The goal was to support the improvement of national policies, provide the necessary tools for decentralization reforms, and effectively assist the capacity of amalgamated territorial communities (ATGs) in preserving their cultural and natural heritage while utilizing its economic potential.
Project outputs and results:
- A coalition of 28 CSOs from Ukraine was established to support communities with heritage.
- A workshop was organized for experts from Ukrainian CSOs on heritage resource management.
- Three educational visits (tours) to developed heritage sites, specifically the Vyhoda Narrow Gauge Heritage Center, were conducted.
- A pilot plan (program) for heritage interpretation was developed in collaboration with the residents of the Pechenizhyn ATG. The plan was approved during the session of the Pechenizhyn village council of the ATG (Resolution No. 2121-36/2019, dated March 18, 2019, on the approval of the pilot program for heritage interpretation and the development of entrepreneurship based on it) https://pnotg.gov.ua/storage/documents/documents/c0517f96f72d2a2d185e4e0d71c5d7a1.pdf).
- A national conference titled «Decentralization-Communities-Heritage» was held to present the results of the coalition’s activities.
