The project was designed to study the state of ICT in Ivano-Frankivsk and consequently developed the local legal acts in support to citizens’ self-organization bodies at local level, as well as to improve information transparency of the city self-government. 

 

Project outputs and results: The local legal acts aiming at enhancing public participation in local politics and definition of further areas of information relations in the local community were elaborated and introduced (the Regulation on Internet reception and information openness of executive committee of Ivano-Frankivsk City Council). The Community Council affiliated with Ivano-Frankivsk City Council was established as an instrument to consider the opinion of civil society institutions in decision-making. An independent research was conducted and revealed the actual state of information technologies development and level of e-services in Ivano-Frankivsk. The practice of open discussion of important issues by the public representatives, local self-government and businesses was approbated through public debates on TV.  

 

The online broadcasts of sessions of the City Council was introduced (the appropriate equipment purchased and installed). The professional level and experience of public activity of Civil Society Organizations leaders was increased through training on sustainable community development issues. 

 

The level of interaction between Ivano-Frankivsk City Council and territorial community was improved and constructive dialog between the public and city council provided.
