On October 3-4, 2024, 14 representatives from Dykanka, Sencha, Orzhytsia communities in Poltava region, Cherniakhiv community in Zhytomyr region, Hoshcha community in Rivne region, Shatsk community in Volyn region, and Dovzhany and Horinchiv communities in Zakarpattia region attended the Second National Forum of Ambassadors of Ukraine's Cultural Heritage, which took place in Ivano-Frankivsk and Rozdil village.

The forum brought together more than 50 participants from 14 regions of the country and was organized within the framework of the project “Heritage Advocates: Support and Promotion of Local Youth Initiative Groups”, implemented by the NGO “Agency for the Development of Private Initiative” with the support of the US National Endowment for Democracy NED. The goals of the Forum were to present the results of public participation projects to protect and preserve the cultural heritage of Ukraine, to promote successful models of public participation (examples of effective cooperation for heritage preservation and its adaptation to modern challenges), to discuss the prospects of Ukrainian heritage communities as places of visit and cultural centers, and to bring together forum participants to deepen cooperation and exchange experiences on innovative approaches to preserving and interpreting cultural heritage in different regions.

The Second National Forum of Ambassadors of Ukraine's Cultural Heritage has become a platform for networking, presenting existing initiatives, and launching new ones. The established connections will subsequently result in new projects in the field of preservation and promotion of local heritage to effectively engage local residents in building heritage democracy at the local level. The project “Revealing the potential of heritage for the economic development of small communities ” aims to increase the economic sustainability of target communities through a rapid assessment of the economic potential of their heritage, develop the capacity of local governments to assess, manage, and use their heritage, and develop effective local development programs to use the potential of local heritage.
