On April 25, 2013 the seminar on the development of e-governance in Ivano-Frankivsk region took place in Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration. The seminar was organized for the executive bodies (Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration) and local governments of pilot cities where this project is implemented (Ivano-Frankivsk, Kalush and Kolomyia).

The seminar was held within the implementation of the project "Support of e-governance development in Ivano-Frankivsk region" that is carried out by the Academy of e-Governance in Estonia in collaboration with Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Center for Investment and Development and NGO "Agency for Private Initiative Development". Donor of the project is Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA).

One of the topics for discussion during the seminar wasthe achievements of project concerningthe implementation of e-governance elementsin the region and pilot cities. Participants of the seminar presented the system of electronic document flow, core principles and working specifics of the call - centers, geoinformation systems, mobile applications for communication between government and population via mobile phones as well asinteroperability system. Framework document on the Strategy of the support of e-governance in Ivano-Frankivsk region was discussed during the seminar.

During the visit to Ivano-Frankivsk region the representatives of e-Governance Academy (Estonia) met with Igor Zvarych, the deputy head of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration. Estonian delegation also visited the pilot cities (Ivano-Frankivsk, Kalush and Kolomyia) and met with local authorities to discuss the ways of future cooperation.

The next step will be the preparation of descriptions of technical tasks for 4 technological projects:

• Electronic system of document flow for Ivano-Frankivsk, Kalush and the region in general;

• Geographical Information System for Kalush, Dolyna and Ivano-Frankivsk;

• Interoperability structure for Kalush, Dolyna, Ivano-Frankivsk and the region in general;

• Call-center for Kalush and Dolyna.

For the reference: The project “Support of e-governance development in Ivano-Frankivsk region” has launched in September, 2012 (total project duration – 18 months). This project involves the development of Ivano-Frankivsk region’s potential in implementation of information and communication technologies in order to improvethe work of executive bodies and local governments as well as creation an example for central authority bodies. Later the best e-governance practices will be spread in other regions of Ukraine.
