The overall objective of the Project was to support the development and implementation of energy saving technologies and cross-border cooperation in the sector among youth, authorities, and businesses representatives and to build strong partnership relations for the future cooperation between Ivano-Frankivsk region of Ukraine and Maramures county of Romania in the sector.

Project outputs and results:

1. The International Debate Club was established adopting the official declaration on its establishment and uniting the students from Ivano-Frankivsk region of Ukraine and Maramures county of Romania. The Club was provided with the special communication web-platform. 
2. Two regional level debate tournaments in Ukraine and Romania were held on the topic ‘Business and energy saving’. The representatives of business sector and authorities from both countries were involved as judges and observers for the project debate tournaments events, looking for innovations and energy saving technologies in production, utility and construction sectors of regions’ economies. The representatives of local communities were the audience (observers) of the tournaments. All together the tournaments involved 240 participants from both countries. 
3. The project provided an extensive opportunity for the representatives of business sector from Ivano-Frankivsk region to familiarize with the energy saving experience in Maramures county of Romania and start cooperation with their counterparts from neighbouring region in this specific sector: 15 Ukrainians participated in the familiarization visit organized within the project.
4. The specific informational campaign was conducted with the aim to popularize the energy efficient technologies for small and medium business sector of both target regions. The ‘Map of energy saving objects’ was published and disseminated promoting the know-how in energy efficiency and RES sector for small and medium businesses and local governments in Ivano-Frankivsk region of Ukraine and Maramures county of Romania. The publication was prepared in Ukrainian, English and Romanian languages. The guidebook for debate clubs leaders and other target communities’ stakeholders - ‘Materials for debates on energy saving issues. Saving energy – saving future’ was prepared in Ukrainian, English and Romanian languages. The special video film was produced and broadcasted on the regional TV channels in both countries promoting the project activities and results.
5. The Fair of Ideas was conducted within Ivano-Frankivsk Investment Forum (2011) including the thematic exhibition of energy saving technologies with participation of Ukrainian and Romanian companies as well as an open debate tournament final round on ‘Business and energy saving’ involving over 300 participants.
